Consumer guide: A general checklist for comparing program costs. It does not state or override LightenMD checkout terms.
How to compare the real cost of an online weight-loss program
A headline monthly price is useful only if you know what it includes. Compare the complete amount you may pay, the renewal rules, and what happens when treatment changes, pauses, or cannot be prescribed.
Seven facts to verify
- Clinical review: Is the clinician evaluation included or charged separately?
- Medication: Is medication included when prescribed, and can price vary by medication, formulation, dose, or pharmacy?
- Shipping and supplies: Are fulfillment, shipping, and required supplies included?
- Billing cadence: Is billing monthly, per shipment, or on another schedule?
- Renewal: Does the service renew automatically, and when is the next charge?
- Cancellation and refunds: What deadlines and limitations apply before and after clinical review or pharmacy fulfillment?
- Ongoing care: What support, follow-up, check-ins, or additional visits are included?
Use the checkout and written terms
A marketing headline should not override the amount, inclusions, renewal timing, cancellation terms, or refund terms presented before payment. Save or review those terms before authorizing a charge. Treatment availability and pricing can vary by state, clinical decision, product, pharmacy, and applicable requirements.
Practical rule: If the complete amount due today, next charge, inclusions, or cancellation process is unclear, ask for written clarification before paying.
Questions to ask
- What exact amount will be charged today?
- What is the next charge date and amount?
- Could the price change if the medication, dose, or pharmacy changes?
- What happens financially if a clinician does not prescribe?
- When is an order no longer eligible for cancellation or refund?
