Editorial Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

LightenMD publishes service information and educational resources to help people understand online weight-care programs and prepare informed questions for a licensed clinician. Our content does not replace medical care and does not guarantee eligibility, a prescription, or any result.

How we create content

  1. Choose a topic based on verified service questions, public search demand, or recurring support needs.
  2. Separate LightenMD process facts from general education and from decisions that belong to an individual clinician.
  3. Support material factual claims with current, authoritative sources, favoring government guidance, regulators, clinical guidelines, and peer-reviewed research.
  4. Require qualified medical review before publishing content that discusses treatment selection, risks, adverse effects, dosing, contraindications, or clinical management.
  5. Record the owner, sources, review status, publication date, and next review date in the LightenMD evidence register.

What we do not publish

We do not publish fabricated reviews, invented outcomes, unsupported credentials, guaranteed results, undisclosed sponsored content, or mass-produced pages created only to manipulate search rankings. Draft medical content remains outside search indexes until review is complete.

Updates and accountability

Material service changes and source updates trigger a content review. Readers can report a possible error through our Corrections Policy. See also our Medical Review Policy and Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure.
